About Events

What Exactly Happens at Events?

With all these names for events (i.e. DCON, FRN, DCM, etc.), it can be confusing to understand what we do at these events.

Essentially, Key Club holds many events throughout the year, and each one is an opportunity to either bond with fellow members within our school's Key Club or to meet people from within our whole district, Cal-Nev-Ha (California, Nevada, and Hawaii)! At these events you can learn social and leadership skills, help your community, and of course, have a SUPER fun time showing off your Key Club pride!

This page will give brief info on some events, but our Instagram (@slhs_keyclub) is the best place to find more details on events.

Division Council Meeting (DCM)

DCM's are monthly, division-wide meetings where members from each club attend to update the division on their past and upcoming club activities.

Fall Rally North (FRN)

FRN stands for Fall Rally North, an annual rally where divisions from all over Northern California meet to have a friendly competition consisting of Key Club chants and LTG bidding. Divisions show their Key Club spirit by cheering loudly and proudly, repping their club's mascot and color. This event is a great way to meet fellow Key Clubbers and will definitely be a memory you keep with you after high school.

District Convention (DCON)

District Convention (DCON) is a district wide Key Cub event where Key Clubbers all across the California-Nevada-Hawaii district come together to celebrate the end of the term. There, members are able to interact and bond with each other; they are also able to attend helpful educational sessions, receive awards and recognition for their hard work during the term, and vote for the next district board. 2023 DCON will be hosted in Ontario, CA.

Region Training Conference (RTC)

Region Training Conference (RTC) is a weekend long training event at YMCA Camp Jones Gulch where Key Clubbers from across the Bay Area (Regions 9 and 17) come together. Members will participate in valuable leadership activities, learn more about Key Club, and work with one another to create cheers and a skit to perform at a bonfire.
